Kim joined the Haven Housing Board in 2023, bringing with her passion for her service in her community and a wealth of experience and skills to guide Haven Housing work in the future. Most importantly, she brings a commitment to Haven Housing’s mission and a desire to empower women and families who are seeking a safe haven.

“I love Haven Housing’s mission, it’s focus on meeting people where they are and making each day better, and most importantly supporting women as the backbones of their family and communities,” said Kim. "Hennepin County and Minneapolis is my home and I see service on Haven Housing’s Board as a means to ensure my community is a better and more inclusive place for all of us.”

As a partner with Outside General Counsel and as a corporate executive, Kim has proven to be an effective and inclusive leader who fosters talent and growth. In addition, Kim has experience leading non-profit boards as a former Board Chair of Southside Family Nurturing Center, a non-profit that offers early childhood supports to families in the Phillips Neighborhood of Minneapolis. There she led a successful executive director search process and chaired their strategic planning committee. She has also served her communities over the years through volunteering and pro bono legal work.

“I have experience with many aspects of board service, from financial and strategic planning to executive director support, I look forward to leaning in and engaging in any way to prepare for a brighter future at Haven Housing.”

Kim resides with her family in Minneapolis and enjoys traveling, reading, outdoor activities and time in nature (perhaps more so during some seasons than others!).

We’re thrilled that Kim has joined our board!
