Michael Laux joined the Haven Housing Board of Directors in early 2019.
“Housing issues are a critical topic in our community and across the country,” Michael says. “Hearing about the transformative approach Haven Housing has taken to create a supporting community for women and families experiencing homelessness and crisis inspired me to get involved.”
Born and raised in the Milwaukee area, Michael lives in Minneapolis with his wife Katie and two daughters (ages 5 and 2). Like many Midwesterners, he loves outdoor adventures, such as back country expeditions, and enjoys running, biking, and cooking in his free time.
Michael is a manager within the enterprise finance group at Wells Fargo. He leads a team of professionals responsible for governance over internal controls for financial, regulatory and risk reporting. Prior to joining Wells Fargo, he was a senior manager with the financial services practice of PricewaterhouseCoopers, LLP in Chicago and Washington, DC. Michael is an alumnus of the University of Wisconsin-Madison and a CPA (Illinois). Outside of work, Michael is also the Treasurer of Nice Ride Minnesota.
“When I joined the Board,” Michael says, “I enjoyed hearing directly from leadership and staff about how each of the programs foster community and create a supportive environment for women and families.” He particularly likes working with the Finance Committee and leadership to “ensure that Haven Housing has a strong financial position to continue delivering on its mission.”
