LGBTQIA+ youth disproportionately experience homelessness. Anti-LGBTQIA+ laws like the "Don't Say Gay" law passed this week in Florida harm children and will lead to more periods of homelessness.
At Haven Housing, our hope is that we can end homelessness as a community. Some of our program participants are still working to overcome the discrimination, family rejection, and victimization they experienced as young people. As we support their healing, we also want today’s youth to have childhoods where they are accepted and supported. We are committed to working within our programs and with our partners to support children and prevent this harm in the future.
To our LGBTQIA+ program participants, staff, and supporters, you are welcome and celebrated at Haven Housing.
