Taking some time to have fun and relax is such an important part of healing from trauma and crisis. We all need time to unwind, connect with our friends, and maybe even uncover some hidden strengths and talents in the process! This is especially true for those of us working through complexities like recovery, housing instability, or mental health concerns. A strong, resilient community can be an important part of healing our individual and collective trauma.
That’s why Haven Housing takes every chance to build some fun into our days, and summer is the perfect time for some new experiences, especially outdoors. Residents have been enjoying outdoor meals, the opportunity for reflection in our new memorial garden, and making and designing t-shirts that celebrate new freedom to get out into the world. We’re also looking forward to celebrating the FLOW Northside Arts Crawl at the end of July 31 and Haven Housing’s first National Night Out gatherings on August 3.
We hope you’re also finding chances to unwind and reconnect during summer months. Your gift is one way to stay connected to Haven Housing. Your generosity provides great summer experiences for residents and shelter guests, including trips to the Minnesota State Fair, a Twins' game, and other outdoor activities. Thank you for your support!
